With the 2012 French Open now in full swing, the time couldn’t be any better to preview this returning Nike Tennis Classic. Worn by the fiery John McEnroe in 1984, the Challenge Court is a vintage silhouette that features a court-ready leather and mesh build, complete with a padded collar for extra protection. This particular pair, similar to the original, sports a clean Summit White base with navy and red accents throughout.

In what is sure to be a sought after release, a collaboration between Cole Haan and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design was announced earlier today.

Following the well-received releases of the Cole Haan LunarGrand Wingtip and LunarGrand Chukka, it will be interesting to see what spin fragment brings to the table. Will they utilize an existing LunarGrand model, or will they debut a whole new design?

The Cole Haan x fragment design collaboration will launch at Dover Street Market Ginza on July 27. Stay tuned to Sole Collector for further details.

Nike Air Force 180 - USAB Pack

Famously worn by the “Round Mound of Rebound” as he led the original Dream Team in scoring during their 1992 Gold Medal run in Barcelona, the USA Basketball colorway of the classic Nike Air Force 180 is set to return to retail this summer. The white-based mid-top is accented by a heavy amount of Midnight Navy. with red and metallic gold tastefully added in areas throughout. Capping off the look below is a 180-Max air bag and partially translucent rubber outsole.

Targeting for a July release, the USAB Air Force 180 can be pre-ordered at End Clothing next month.

With the June release pretty much looking like it’s a go, we’re finally starting to see the Nike Air Yeezy 2 make the celebrity Twitter rounds. Several sneaker personalities shared their latest pickups today, showcasing the highly anticipated sequel in both the Black/Solar Red and Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum colorways. Additionally, Nike Stadium Paris sent out a photo and let customers know that both colorways would be dropping soon.

Nothing has been confirmed by Nike at the moment, but it looks like the Yeezy 2 will finally see the light of day in the coming weeks. Keep checking Sole Collector for the latest.

First seen in the “Excellent Makers” series earlier this year, New Balance provides a closer look at the “Cutting Room” pack, a trio of Made In England 576 runners celebrating 30 years of manufacturing in the UK.

The three colorways honor the Flimby factory’s three most senior craftsmen: Andy Mandle, Roy Bell and Billy Edgar.

The New Balance Made In England 576 ”Cutting Room” pack drops this August at select New Balance retailers.

Nike Air Max 1 VNTG - Four Colorways

Expected to release later this year, Nike Sportswear recently brought to life four vintage builds of the classic Air Max ‘87 runner.

Celebrating 25 years since the first visible Air shoe was introduced to the world, NSW will release four vintage looks for the classic runner. We’ll see tradtional looks in both the original men’s and women’s colorways, along with the original USA-inspired color scheme. A darker build will also be made available, utilzing obsidian, black and grey.

Nike Running introduces to us another innovative design with the all new Nike Free Powerlines+ currently on it’s way to retailers.

The brand new silhouette creates it’s look with a full mesh build, leather overlays and a unique lacing system that helps earn them the “Powerlines” label. Midnight fog handles most of the upper, while a smooth shade of blue accents on the laces, liner and Nike branding. A grey-splattered off-white Free sole completes the look down below.

What’s harder on a star athlete than being recognized in public? Try not being recognized in public - at least not being recognized as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. In this new Funny or Die clip presented by Under Armour, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady stops by a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Los Angeles, where he’s greeted by an employee and several customers who marvel over his non-existent Boston accent. All the while, they’re oblivious to his true identity.

Another clean colorway for the Air Max 1 is on it’s way from Nike Sportswear, providing us with the perfect look for the upcoming summer months.

The impressive colorway features a light bone build, constructed of mesh, suede and leather. Summit white adds to the look, taking care of the Swoosh, mudguard, laces and midsole. Hits of brown top them off, taking care of the upper eyelets and parts of the outsole.

Next month, NIKEiD will introduce the Pioneer Leather option to the Air Force 1 design platform. Available in black and brown, the new package consists of premium buttery leathers, nappy suedes and gum soles. You’ll be able to choose high and low-top variations of the classic silhouette, a sample make-up of each pictured in detail below.

Pioneer Leather will be available in limited quantities at NIKEiD starting June 1.

Marvel x Reebok Insta Pump Fury - “Spider-Man”

In association with this summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man reboot, Marvel has linked up with Reebok to work on a Web Slinger-themed colorway of the classic Insta Pump Fury. The shoe, of course, takes on the color scheme of Spider-Man’s iconic red and blue costume, complete with tonal web graphics on the toebox and a red Spidey logo on the pump. White fills in at the midsole, while custom Spider-Man graphic insoles line the interior.

The “Spider-Man” Insta Pump Fury will touch down at select Reebok retailers on Friday, June 8.

With Lebron James taking this year’s NBA MVP honors once again and his team looking like a shoe-in for the Finals, King James is at the top of the basketball world. Throw in one of the most anticipated and hyped shoe releases of the year dropping this Saturday with the Lebron 9 Elite “South Beach”, and Lebron is also right at the top of the sneaker world (at least for this week).

For this week’s Classic Commercial we go back to where it all started with a rookie Lebron and his first signature shoe, the Nike Zoom Generation. Watch as a baby-faced Lebron dazzles the crowd with his moves, as Bernie Mac (R.I.P.) gives a rousing sermon on “The Chosen One”. The Generation was the first shoe of Lebron’s $90 million deal with Nike back in 2003 (inked, of course, before he ever even played an NBA game), and still a fan favorite of LBJ shoe collectors. The only question really is, how long until Nike retros them?

Following the first drop from earlier in the month, adidas Originals sets to release the second drop from the Spring/Summer 2012 Consortium “Your Story” collection, featuring five more unique sneakers.

Hypebeast provides the preview of the second “Your Story” drop, which includes a Pro Shell by Y’OH’s Kara Messina, Matchplay by Happy Socks Creative Director Viktor Tell, Decade Hi by illustrator Stefan Glerum, ZX 500 by photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis and a special 20th anniversary BC.

The collection is scheduled for a June 8 release at select adidas Consortium accounts worldwide.

In addition to the “Linsanity” Hyperdunk 2011 Low released this past weekend and the upcoming “Jeremy Lin” Air Force 1, Sole Collector provides a first look at Jeremy Lin’s 1-of-1 “Year of the Dragon” Nike Destroyer jacket.

Nike Sportswear presented the bespoke Destroyer to Jeremy at the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend, where he participated in the Rising Stars Challenge. While the jacket could have stayed with only a “Year of the Dragon” theme, especially considering the connection between Lin’s birth year (1988) and the current year in the Chinese zodiac, Nike Sportswear thankfully included other prominent details from Lin’s story such as a California state patch (with a star calling out Jeremy’s hometown of Palo Alto) and a play on the crest of his alma mater, Harvard University.
