The relationship between professional athletes and the media always treads that thin line between love and hate, seemingly veering toward the latter more often than not. Tension is most high during those always entertaining post-game interviews, which have given us an endless amount of memorable soundbites over the years. The latest “clash” between star athlete and media came about a month ago in Toronto, when a local reporter got under the skin of Washington Nationals phenom Bryce Harper.
After notching his second straight three-hit game with a homerun in a win over the Toronto Blue Jays, a reporter asked Harper if he’d celebrate with a beer, seeing as how the legal drinking age in Canada is 18. Bryce shot him a glare and said, “I’m not answering that. That’s a clown question, bro.” Since then, the video has been a viral hit and Harper trademarked all kinds of clown-related phrases. Naturally, endorser Under Armour is capitalizing on the clown buzz by releasing a new Bryce T-Shirt.
Available in Grey Heather and White, the tees simply read “Don’t Be A Clown Bro” across the front and feature “34 BH” on the back. The shirts are made with charged cotton and feature UA’s Signature Moisture Transport System to wick away sweat from the body. Sizes range from small to 3XL.
